At the renowned Shuchiin Academy, Miyuki Shirogane and Kaguya Shinomiya are the student body's top representatives. Ranked the top student in the nation and respected by peers and mentors alike, Miyuki serves as the student council president. Alongside him, the vice president Kaguya—eldest daughter of the wealthy Shinomiya family—excels in every field imaginable. They are the envy of the entire student body, regarded as the perfect couple.
However, despite both having already developed feelings for the other, neither are willing to admit them. The first to confess loses, will be looked down upon, and will be considered the lesser. With their honor and pride at stake, Miyuki and Kaguya are both equally determined to be the one to emerge victorious on the battlefield of love!
Review: Holy smokes did this anime blew up in the community. I'm pretty sure Reddit died the day the first episode came out. The last episode became one of the most gilded posts of all of Reddit. I love this anime so much. I think it easily became one of my Top 10 anime as of May 5th 2019. Some episodes were so amazing that I watched it TWICE.
What I love the most about this anime was how freaking funny it is. Every single episode had me laughing or snorting in a fit. The comedy style of this anime is just so perfect. It has a great mixture between dirty, naive, and wholesome comedy. All the characters work so well with each other that every scene was a win when it comes to the comedic stand point.
I don't know what is so interesting about seeing to psychopaths trying to convince the other person to confess to them, but what ever it is, it is GOOD. I love how every character is messed up in their own way. I love how much of a tsundere Kaguya and Miyuki are. I love how cute Chika is. She is best girl hands down and Yuu's emo/pervert personality is just perfect. I couldn't ask for a better set of characters.

What else... what else... Oh right the romance of this anime! This is not your typical romance where one person confesses to the other and they go happily ever after throughout their high school years. Yeah... NO lol... This is a competition between the two most prideful people ever. Who ever confesses to the other person first LOSES. God, Kaguya and Miyuki are sometimes so painfully oblivious to each other that it makes me laugh in frustration. I don't even want to imagine if they have kids how they'll be raised.
All of this commotion takes place in school. So, there will be a lot of common school tropes such as someone failing exams, seeing fireworks with a significant other, making home lunches to share, etc. Trust me, you don't have to be in school to enjoy this anime. I have shown this anime to all of my friends and they all loved it. I even showed it to someone who "hates anime" and he enjoyed it too.
Overall, GO WATCH IT!!! Try out three episodes and let me know what you think. If you don't like it... well... I'll be sad but its okay... We can still be friends <3

DeleteDo you prefer Crunchyroll or Funimation? I don't mind subbed, but I prefer dubbed. However, I feel like I've been waiting an ETERNITY for the next dubbed batch for One Piece. I'm happy this one was such a hit for you! I might have to try it. :)

I've been watching mostly subbed. I've only really watched Full Metal Alchemist in dubbed. Sometimes I wish I watched dubbed so that I can do other things while watching, but sometimes I just don't like the dub. I use Crunchyroll mostly :) Let me know what you think if you do watch it!
