Hello everyone!

This post is just going to be a bit of a laid back one :) The main question for today is do you prefer to read books in a series or do you just want everything to be wrapped up neatly in one book? This question was brought up by my best friend. She loves giving me books to read but always had a hard time because she doesn't know if the book I'm receiving is the first, third or eight book of the series. This year she asked if there were any standalone YA books I want to read and I found that hard to answer.

My Vacation in Japan!

Ever since I was a little kid reading manga and watching anime, I've always wanted to visit the beautiful country of Japan. I was able to spend a week in Japan and I have to say that I loved every second of it. I visited a total of five cities in Japan, Osaka, Kobe, Hamamatsu, Nagoya, and Tokyo. Since I visited mostly south Japan I hope to visit the northern side of Japan one day. Sorry for posting a bit later than scheduled. Any who, enjoy the pictures of Japan! I AM BACK FROM VACATION!!!!

My Favorite Supporting Characters

Today is a rare day off for me so I decided to make a small post. So, in my opinion, what is a supporting character? A supporting character is someone that isn't the main focus of the story. For example, in the Throne of Glass series, Celaena is the main character. Chaol was a supporting character until Tower of Dawn was released. Now Chaol is a main character and therefore not allowed to be on this list. Simple definition right? Let's get onto the list. Also, this is just a list, I'm not ranking these characters at all.

When Books Become Movies

So, if you asked me what I did this past week, I would say that I was preparing greatly for the next stage of my life. Or maybe I was doing some mad spring cleaning and was able to throw away all the papers that were in my room. Maybe I went on a romantic getaway in Hawaii and swam with the dolphins. Reality though... I was watching movies that were inspired by books that I've read. This post is my thoughts on them.

What Makes a Good Book

Happy Thursday everyone!

Let's start off with a small chit-chat. I am almost done with Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas, with 15% of the book left to read. I am loving it so expect a positive review to come out by next week! Everyone is a different type of reader with different preferences and ideas. When it comes to YA books, I believe I am pretty lax in judging them, but there are certain traits or story telling skills that make certain books better than others. Here are some things that I believe makes a good YA book for me. Remember! Everyone has different tastes.

Sometimes I just need a break from reading words after words after words. When days like that appear, I usually find myself reading webtoons! A webtoon is digital comic strip that is published online. Its most common in South Korea and is completely vertical. I love webtoons because of their beautiful artworks and intense story lines. The really big downside to webtoons is that it takes 1-2 weeks for a new chapter/episode to be released. 90% of the time the authors of these webtoons are working on their comic AFTER their full-time job and busy life. Let's start this post with a little chit-chat. I officially became a year older yesterday and yeah... Do I FEEL older? No. Not really, but at the same time I do. Weird right? I'm also almost done with Three Dark Queens with only 20% left of the book to read. So, book review should be out around this week or no later than next week! Onto the actual topic of the post! This is another random post that I thought would be fun. What if I put characters from books that I've read this year into an arena and they were told that there can only be one survivor. It is a little dark to think about, but it is fun to think about characters from different books interacting with each other. Think of it like the Hunger Games, only with characters from other books. So, the rules for this killing floor is that the contestants can only be main or supporting characters from books that I've read. For this post, since I have only read six books so far, I am also going to include the seven books I've read last year into the competition. Here are the unlucky contestants!
