~ Anime That I'm Currently Watching ~

Tuesday, May 1, 2018

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Let's start this post with a little chit-chat. I officially became a year older yesterday and yeah... Do I FEEL older? No. Not really, but at the same time I do. Weird right? I'm also almost done with Three Dark Queens with only 20% left of the book to read. So, book review should be out around this week or no later than next week! Onto the actual topic of the post! Here I'm just going to give a rundown of the anime I've finished and my thoughts on them PLUS talk about the new anime that I've started/continuing to watch. There may be spoilers.... You have been warned...

1. GARO -VANISHING LINE-

Highly advanced town - Russel City. While people enjoy its prosperity in the town, there is a huge conspiracy secretly going on which will shake the world. Sword, a man who notices its movement determines to throw himself into battles and reveal the conspiracy, but only to find a clue - "Eldorado". At that time, Sword happens to meet a girl Sophie who has been looking for the meaning of "Eldorado", a message left by her missing brother. These two, attracted by the word "Eldorado", somehow feel invisible ties each other and start to act together. Their journey with mixed feelings now begins.

I've finished this series :D I have to say that I'm super pleased with the ending of the anime. I think all the character development of Sophie and Luke sealed the deal for me. If I had to rate the anime out of five stars, it would be a 5/5. This anime should have been higher up on everyone's list of shows to watch, but I understand the previous installments of the franchise were lack luster. Give the first two episodes a shot!

2. DARLING in the FRANXX

The distant future: Humanity established the mobile fort city, Plantation, upon the ruined wasteland. Within the city were pilot quarters, Mistilteinn, otherwise known as the “Birdcage.” That is where the children live... Their only mission in life was the fight. Their enemies are the mysterious giant organisms known as Kyoryu. The children operate robots known as FRANXX in order to face these still unseen enemies. Among them was a boy who was once called a child prodigy: Code number 016, Hiro. One day, a mysterious girl called Zero Two appears in front of Hiro. “I’ve found you, my Darling.”

I SWEAR I have a healthy obsession with this anime. Currently, I am on episode 15 and I wish they would release the next episodes faster. I am in love with all the characters in this anime and I just NEED to know the outcomes. I love how every character has changed since the beginning and now we're getting to the dark nitty gritty bits of the anime. It's such a good show <3

3. Recovery of an MMO Junkie

Morioka Moriko (♀) is 30, single, and a NEET. She has dropped out of the real world. Searching for a safe place, the place she ended up... is the online world!! In this online game, Moriko starts a new life as a handsome young man with silky hair named Hayashi. However, she’s an obvious noob and ends up dying numerous times when a lovely girl named “Lily” lends her a helping hand. Meanwhile IRL, she ends up having a shocking encounter with a mysterious handsome salaryman named Sakurai Yuta. After meeting him, the real world starts to change and starts affecting her online world as well?!

I can relate to this anime a little TOO well since I used to be obsessed with MMO's, but I've never gender bended myself. I'm currently on episode 10 and I'm so SAD that this anime is no longer licensed in the U.S. anymore. I love all the characters and the romance is so CHEESY. Lilac is my favorite character because she's so adorable, but Sakurai/Lily is such a CUTE LOVABLE DORK, so I love him too. Please let this anime come back... I'm begging...

4. Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens

"There is a person you desperately want to kill. Now, how do you kill that person?" At a glance, Fukuoka seems like a peaceful town, but crime runs rampant behind the scenes. It's now a battleground for professional killers, with urban legends suggesting that there's even one who specializes in killing professional killers. Assassins, detectives, revenge seekers, informants, torture specialists... When stories are told of these and other professionals of the underground, a "killer of professional killers" appears...

So, what is this anime about you ask? Well... professional killers, ramen, and baseball would be my answer. I would give this anime a 4.5/5. The anime was really good up until the last three episodes. Without the last three I would have given this a full 5/5. I'd still recommend people to watch it!

5. Is it Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?

Based off of a light novel of the same name written by Fujino Omori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda, Is It Wrong to Try and Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is set in the world of Orario, where adventurers band together and look for treasures in an underground labyrinth known as Dungeon. However, for Bell Cranel, fame and riches are secondary to what he wants to find the most: girls. He soon finds out though, that anything can happen in Dungeon, and winds up being the damsel in distress instead!

My friends are making me watch this anime. I'm currently on episode 3 and this anime is interesting. It's not an anime I would have picked up on my own. So far it is about this boy, Bell, who is trying to become stronger to impress the popular girl of the town. Currently, I'm only watching this anime when my friends make me. I wouldn't recommend it just yet, but I'm on episode 3 so I can't say for sure.

6. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Disregard for alchemy’s laws ripped half of Ed Elric’s limbs from his body and left Al’s soul clinging to a suit of armor. To restore what was lost, the brothers seek the Philosopher’s Stone. Enemies and allies – the corrupt military, the Homunculi, and foreign alchemists – will alter the Elric’s course, but their purpose will remain unchanged and their bond unbreakable.

I'm rewatching this anime, for a third time! This is my NUMBER 1 anime. My friend asked me to introduce him into the anime genre so I'm watching this with him. He better love this anime or I don't know if we can be friends anymore. If anyone needs a step into the anime world, this is the anime I recommend you start with. I give it 5 million stars out of 5.

 ANIME PUT ON HOLD

1. March comes in like a lion

This is a gentle tale about people trying to regain something. And it is a tale of battle. The main character, Rei Kiriyama, lost his family in an accident when he was young. Now he is a 17-year-old pro shogi player who is burdened with deep loneliness. Rei lives alone in an old town in Tokyo, but after becoming acquainted with three sisters, Akari, Hinata and Momo, he begins to change little by little…

I stopped watching this anime. Why? I simply got bored of it. I may or may not pick up the anime again, but I'm not quite sure. There are so many shows that are coming out and so many that I haven't watched.

HOLY MOLY WAS THIS POST LONG. Thank you to all that have read all the way to the end. I know My Hero Academia season 3 is starting again, but I'm waiting for more episodes to release so I can binge watch it. My sister also recommended me Violet Evergarden, so I would like to check that out as well. THERE'S NOT ENOUGH TIME. What anime are you watching? Let me know in the comments below!
