Book Review: Blood Rose Rebellion by Rosalyn Eves

Thursday, January 2, 2020

Author: Rosalyn Eves
Series: Yes - Book #1 of the Blood Rose Rebellion series.
Cover: I really really like the cover. The disintegrating roses and them turning into stone looks so amazing. Beautiful cover!
Rating: 3/5 I actually enjoyed this book a bit more than I thought I would. It wasn't "AMAZING" but it was interesting enough for me to finish it and not mind reading the next book of the series.

Book Review: The Caged Queen by Kristen Ciccarelli

Saturday, December 28, 2019

Author: Kristen Ciccarelli
Series: Yes- Book #2 in the Iskari series.
Cover: Love the cover of this book too! I have the series on my shelf and I cannot stop looking at them all. I just love their design so much.
Rating: 4/5 I enjoyed this book, but not as much as The Last Namsara. I still think Ciccarelli has a beautiful writing style, but the story wasn't as spicy as the first book. That being said, I can't wait to read the third book!

Blog Redesign!

Monday, December 23, 2019

Hello everyone. Happy Monday!

This is just a small update to my blog. Over the past week, something happened to the coding with the template I used to use for my blog. I've switched templates now and I'm trying to fix some posts, gifs, pictures, spacing etc. etc. I'm really sad since I loved my old blog template, but I've tried reaching out to the creator of the template and they haven't responded. Oh well...

Series or Standalone?

Monday, December 16, 2019

Hello everyone!

This post is just going to be a bit of a laid back one :) The main question for today is do you prefer to read books in a series or do you just want everything to be wrapped up neatly in one book? This question was brought up by my best friend. She loves giving me books to read but always had a hard time because she doesn't know if the book I'm receiving is the first, third or eight book of the series. This year she asked if there were any standalone YA books I want to read and I found that hard to answer.

Book Review: The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli

Friday, December 6, 2019

Author: Kristen Ciccarelli
Series: Yes - Book #1 in the Iskari series.
Cover: I love covers that have hints of gold. I think it brings subtle elegance the the cover. Seeing the covers of the rest of the series, I think this gray scale & gold design is very lovely.
Rating: 5/5 Even though I have read The Last Namsara last year, rereading the book still brought me so much feelings and awe at Ciccarelli's writing. I loved every single story and sentence in this book. I cannot wait to read her second book!

Around the Blogs (#3)

Saturday, November 23, 2019

Hello everyone. Happy Saturday!

This post is inspired by the lovely Chuckles over at their blog Chuckles Book Cave. The main reason why I started blogging was by reading wonderful blogs made by other people. It is always fun to read other people's reviews, blog tags, rants, or just posts about anything. I decided that I should post what blog posts I've read and one's that I liked. I read a lot of posts, but here are some that I enjoyed :)

Book Review: The Wives of Henry VIII Tell All by Candace Fleming, M.T. Anderson, Stephanie Hemphill, Lisa Ann Sandell, Jennifer Donnelly, Linda Sue Park, and Deborah Hopkinson

Sunday, November 17, 2019

Authors: Candace Fleming, M.T. Anderson, Stephanie Hemphill, Lisa Ann Sandell, Jennifer Donnelly, Linda Sue Park, and Deborah Hopkinson
Series: Stand-alone
Cover: Love how this cover uses the art style that was found in the time period where this book takes place. I think this is Anne Boleyn. Not quite sure, but let me know what you think.
Rating: 5/5 I finished this book so fast. I absolutely love shows like The Crown, so when I saw a book about Henry VIII, I decided to give it a shot. I fell in love with this book and highly recommend it if you're interested in the lives of Henry's six wives.

The List Keeps Growing (#2)

Tuesday, November 12, 2019

Happy Tuesday everyone!

This is just a small update of what I've been doing and all the reasons why I haven't been posting. This year I wanted to read 20 books and well THAT'S NOT HAPPENING! I think I've read 8? That's so bad haha. I've been working and studying for some licenses for my work, which means 8 hour work day + 2-3 hours of studying. I just didn't have time for books. I DID read a couple of books which I have to write reviews on, so that will be coming soon.

Any who, this post is all the books I've added on my TBR list. I have a grand total of 62 books I'd like to read now. This is a small list compared to other bloggers out there. Some have into the thousands!! I remember when I used to read a book a day. Where did all that time go?! Hopefully I can tackle most of these books down the road. Here are the new family members to my TBR list!
